** ASCENSION. 21630, Tue July 23 at 1424, JBA carrier is the OSOB and thus the SSOB. Per EiBi & Aoki, it`s BBC Hausa at 1400-1430 M-F, but 1100-1430 Sat - and never on Sunday? Here we are near the solar cycle peak and 13m band is drastically underused. Not a single transmission to or from North America! Juan Antonio Blanco, Miami 15 Jul 2024 - 19:35 CEST [caption:] A corner in El Vedado, and a problematic date for the Cuban authorities. Three years after the events of July 11, 2021 (11-J), it is important to realize what the significance of that day was, and where we are now. The import of the national uprising in 2021 is that it revealed that most of the population rejected a failed and repressive regime, and that the idea that the Cuban people were living happily was a fallacy manufactured and exported to the world. And the great lesson reiterated on that July 11 is that nothing can be secured from a dictatorship without standing up to it. . .`` https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1721064951_56026.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5025, July 19 at 0658, S9+40 of dead air from R. By 2200 token English on Wed, 15390 is back on at S9/+10 and 17855 is still off, while 15520 and 17715 are about equally sufficient S9+10/20 direct. In the 90s I picked it up again, and actually had a Philips DC-777 SW receiver in my car. It was a joy to listen to the BBC, R Moscow, R Luxembourg, etc. as I drove around Pennsylvania. The #1 transmitter high voltage ON, went bad and the transmitter would not turn off. REPLACED. Inductors cleaned. Dirty inductor in the SW100 Harris. Cleaned and lubricated. I have just removed the 4 loading inductors (coils) from the Harris SW100 number 3 transmitter and placed them in cleaning vinegar. After washing, they are ready to be put back into place.
