GLENN HAUSER`S WEEKLY LOG ROUNDUPS Published by early UT Thursday each week, the original complete logs in one merged alfabetical file: http://worldofradio.com/Hauserlogs.html This May 6-12 edition: https://www.w4uvh.net/ghlogs_2021_0506_0512.txt ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sat May 8 at 1411 tune-in via Brasil SDR, LRA36 is already on, poor S7 with song, 1416 ID with usual fare of lots of music, IDs; still 1521 music, 1554 IDs, 1600+ music, 1639 still; unknown when cut off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA [non]. 15700, May 7 at 1508, CRI Plus English relay via CUBA is still gone, as it was on May 4 & 5, not checked on 6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6087-6113, May 6 at 0610, RHC English splashing out over ~26 kHz range from 6100 which is S9+20/30. 6165 at S9+10/20 is almost as bad, 6153-6177 ~24 kHz. 5040 & 6000 are off, 6060 is OK. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, May 6 after 19 UT check, this RHC English is missing, nor is 15370 on with it as happened recently. 2-hour English blox would not fit into 1-hour slot, I fear. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2085) ** CUBA. 6145, May 7 at 0559, RHC English is back on this alternate after keeping to 6165 for quite a while, good S7-S9. 6165 and 5040 are off; 6000 undermodulated; 6060 buzzy; 6100 sufficient. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6165, May 8 at 0350, RHC English back here ex-6145 for one night last night. At 0610: 6165 & 6100 OK; 6060 with hard buzz; 6000 off; 5040 in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC. 6165 again at 0405 check May 9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6165, May 9 at 0611, this is the only RHC English still on; the other four are off. So what becomes of Esperanto at 0700 Sunday only? Nominally it`s appended on 6100, not 6165. Would they turn 6100 back on? Something`s always wrong at RHC. Ivo Ivanov reports about 6165 instead of 6100: ``And today respectively no broadcast of RHC in Esperanto at 0700 UT. Very good signal via SDR Half Moon Bay, CA, USA. Something`s always wrong at Radio Habana Cuba Bauta transmitter center!!`` After 1500, Esperanto confirmed on usual 11760 & 15140 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, May 9 at 1901, RHC English opening on this only; missed checking on May 8 or 7 since May 6 was missing from both frequencies as 15370 had been alone on May 3. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,, WOR) ** CUBA. 15370, May 9 at 2203, RHC unusually with classical music but very distorted, then talking Spanish about a huelga, S9/+25. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140 & 15370, May 9 at 1954, maybe not too-late check for the first RHC English hour from 1900: both frequencies absent. Something`s always wrong at RHC. On May 10, Alan Roe says Hour 1 of the now 2-hour English service appeared at 19. He`s trying to compile monitored program schedules for both but they are --- flexible. On May 11 via Bonaire remote, after Kriyol I hear English start at 1900 on 15140, nothing on 15370. Should 15370 be heard with English after 1900, it may merely because turned on too early before scheduled 1930 French (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, May 10 at 2157, RHC at S9+5 of dead air with some hum, still so at 2201, 2203, 2208 chex when French should be underway. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6100, May 11 at 0606, this is the only RHC English frequency left after-hours, and it`s the one with the big humbuzz. 6165/6145, 6060, 6000 and 5040 are all off. Cuba`s ``chief meteorologist`` is already on with a 3-minute forecast, starting with Canada where there will be scattered rain -- how`s that for precision? Storms across southern States including OK. Gives temps in F & C, later getting back to Toronto, also some US cities, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and finally, Cuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 11850, May 12 at 0141, RHC Spanish is S9+20 and suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Parasite 11840 is JBM; 11860 confronts another carrier beating, probably Yemen via Sa`udi Arabia, and remnants of pulse jamming, Cuban Commies vs Commies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6060, May 12 at 0607, RHC English with humbuzz, but 6165 & 6100 are still on for a change with OK modulation; 6000 is as usual off by now; and 5040 is still on but in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ERITREA [non]. About Bayto Yaikl mentioning PBS Frontline: it`s this week`s new edition, `Escaping Eritrea`, which was not yet on PBS website when I checked. It seems they do not utter the word ``Bayto`` on the air, as Ivo Ivanov reports: ``FRANCE Reception of Dimtse (Bayto) Yiakl, USA at new time and on new frequency on May 5: 1630-1700 on 11760 ISS 250 kW / 125 deg to EaAf Tigrinya Wed/Sat, very good via SDR Tambov, RUS http://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2021/05/dimtse-bayto-yiakl-usa-at-new-time-and.html Announced on the first video at 00.47 sec. Azi Dimtse Yiakl America and then time and frequency`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ERITREA [non]. 17545v, Sat May 8 at 1530 not even a JBA carrier at UTwente, which we were still detecting May 5 at the formerly scheduled time for Bayto Yaikl. So ISS France may have finally turned it off or propagation is not coöperative. 11760, Sat May 8 at 1640, Bayto Yaikl via ISS good S9/S8 into UTwente the 1630-1659 in Tigrinya; mentioned Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman, who is U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa; DOS bio as of April 21: https://www.state.gov/biographies/jeffrey-feltman/ At 1700. VOA Kurdish via Biblis inherits 11760; there has been no sign of CubaRM over there (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE [non]. 7780, May 6 at 2000, WRMI audible poorly via VA SDR starting Radio for Peace International hour as sked on Thursdays. Altho the title is in English, this emission like the others is really in French, except for sign-on in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian; and occasional IDs in English which they prefer as station name even tho not broadcasting any further in English. I certainly have nothing against French but broadcasts via WRMI would be more effective in English; why not? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GREECE. 9420, May 11 at 1936 check via UTwente, ERT is S9+30 but extremely distorted! A shame since they play so much music, not just Greek. VOG`s last SW transmitter may be on the way out. This has been a hot topic on the WOR iogroup. Many other reports of distortion, but sometimes not. It was missing on May 9, causing concern for those who did not realize that it always takes Sundays off into UT Mondays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, May 6 at 0627, JBA carrier from presumed R. Kiribati; none others noted, not even 1098 Marshalls (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KOREA NORTH [and non]. 11710, May 6 at 0612, no sign of stilted French from VOK like heard on May 3, so maybe back on correct frequencies. The weak 11680 signal both then and now could be VOHA Zambia as well as P`yongyang. At 1409 May 6, however, 11710 VOK with scheduled stilted French is S9-S7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KOREA NORTH [and non]. 13760.258, May 11 at 1422, S2-S4 music way off-frequency, no doubt VOK during French hour. Something`s always preposterous at P`yongyang. At least it`s doing better than KBS on 15575, JBA carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NETHERLANDS [non]. 9955, Fri May 7 at 2203, a VERY familiar voice in Spanish -- soy yo, it`s me! An old episode of `Radio-Enlace` is being played back, until 2215, all about the pirate La Voz de las Cañas, Jaime y Alfonso and many other voices including the perpetrators; from 1988 it lasted until 21 enero 1990, with clips of it including final frequency as 5067.9. At 2215 `Frecuencia al Dia` program ID and onward to Célio Romais` DX Clube do Brasil report. This is an early airing of a new week`s FAD. The full skedgrid times on WRMI which would be repeating this are: Fri 2200 9955; Tue 2130 7780, Thu 0000 7730, Thu 1300 9955, Fri 0330 5985, Fri 1030 5850. Also on WWCR Fri & Mon 2100 15825; KVOH UT Sun 0000 9975. FAD own website sked is VERY outdated, no resemblance to the WRMI times, and as if XERMX still exist! http://programasdx.com/frecuencialdia_horarios.htm Current home page shows pennant of LV Cañas, and audio link to May 7 show. At start, includes three separate clips of yours truly: http://programasdx.com/frecuenciaaldia.htm It was partly an experiment to catch DXers making false reports. Spoiler: the name came from Madrid slang for beer (Guillermo Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, May 7 at 0557, VON drummy IS, so back on 41m tonight (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, May 9 at 0614, VON is gone again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, May 7 at 0354, anti-Christ pirate Station YHWH with Josiah intonation, S6-S7 via MO SDR but mostly unreadable vs noise level of S5. Ex-7470, as Ron Howard noted last night. SAM shows only -6-7-8 Hz carrier offset. 0356 I think he mentions ``Churchill Downs``; how is that relevant? Still past 0400, slightly more legible when tuned in USB-N mode. I also try remotes in AZ and BC where signal is no better. 0421 his signature themetune and off circa 0422*. Around midday Sat or Sun, seek him on 25m, as last week 11905 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-AM, May 8 at 0108 tune-in, immediately hear Ball Smacker Radio ID and SFX, song; S9/+10 vs storm crashes. Is regular Friday nite sked at 7 pm CST. More here: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,81306.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6924.116-AM, May 8 at 0110, raucous pirate music at S7-S9. These say it`s Captain Morgan Shortwave: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,81307.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6924.0-USB, May 9 at 0045, pirate music and DJ comments, via KB0FX SDR with storm crashes. Was hard to pin down frequency at first with unfamiliar music and no carrier. 0104 canned ID? by YL voice I cannot understand despite repeated multiple times. But then, ``This is Zekey here; that was KIND, classic? recording``. It was obviously this filed as ``Goat Herder Radio``, Zekey; apparently no one else heard him mention KIND: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,81376.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1210, May 11 at 2050 UT, KGYN Guymon audio is cutting on and off rapidly, unusable. Is no one paying attention? This 10 kW ND at 183 miles does barely reach Enid by daytime groundwave across the Ogallala Aquifer. Per NRC AM Log, there is a CP to raise day power to 22 kW. Not the only problem at KGYN lately: Rick Dau reported on his roadtrip to NRC: ``1210 KGYN OK Guymon - 4/24 2015 [converted by gh to UT] - Strong, of course, but with OC, which was noted by me from the time I crossed the Texas-Oklahoma state line south of Bryans Corner, Oklahoma on U.S. Highway 83 (approx. 1930) to the Oklahoma-Kansas state line on Oklahoma State Highway 136 (approx. 2045). Station should have been airing the Steve Hartman Show via Fox Sports Radio at the time. Oops! (RD-OK)`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1390, Sunday May 9 at 0622 UT, my closest local, KCRC, is S9+70 of dead air on the R75, very unusual. Must have lost sports satellite feed and no one awake to fix it. I switch to the DX-398 so I can get a sharp null, allowing a pileup of other signals to audiblize. I stay with it past 0642 but can`t ID anything. At first there was a local weather break from somewhere; dominant signal with soul song which seemed to go on forever without a break. No clear candidates in NRC AM Log listings. There are 1390s in all adjacent states, mostly with peanut-powers at night. In Chicago there is WGRB, UC/GOS format, 5/5 kW but both day and night patterns throw to the north, and my null of KCRC favors NW/SE. Maybe the dead air will rehappen late at night (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** PUERTO RICO. 391-MCW kHz, May 12 at 0613 UT, ND beacon DDP is JBA vs storm noise level, from Dorado/San Juan. Always nice to get this but what about all the other NDBs in Latin America? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 13650, May 11 at 2039, RRI half-hour English is F-G here, S8-S5 but no signal on // 11850; about vaccines. At least one of their transmitters is down again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Fri May 7 at 2200, REE token M/W/F English holds up VG here S9+10/20 until 2230, >15520 >11940 >11685. After news about COVID, feature is part 2 on US/Spain relations during Cold War, notably accidental dropping of 3 H-bombs on Spain, and another into ocean on Jan 17, 1966y. US and Franco government conspired to downplay radiation danger altho of course they did not explode. Let`s hope MUF favor 17855 rest of summer, rather than generally unusable in April. We should still have four SW/frequency seasons, two months around each equinox, four around each solstice, once designated M, J, S and D; but that was just too much trouble for the managers, regardless of propagation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Monday May 10 at 2156, zero signal from REE to N America, off? 15520 poor S3-S4 in Arabic; 11940 S7-S8, by 2202, English is best here, interview about Nahuatl music from El Salvador in New York?, 2210 some such song (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, May 12 at 0143, zero signal from REE to North America which is scheduled until 0200 weekdays. It had been detectable in the afternoon, yet now totally unpropagating. But 11940 to S America is sufficient, S9+10/20. Something`s always nonsensical at Noblejas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, May 7 at 2158, VOT IS audible S8-S9 vs noise level S7 and undermodulated, unusable. Even tho the RTTY QRM now can be evaded by LSB tuning (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, May 8 at 2158, VOT is on today, IS OK avoiding RTTY on LSB like I am sure every potential listener can and shall employ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, May 9 at 2205, VOT is on but undermodulated, S5-S8, no RTTY maybe because it`s Sunday. May 10 at 2156 no signal, but on by 2202, S5-S9 again no RTTY but undermodulated. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. May 8 is Armed Forces Day, during which crossband contacts between military stations and hams are encouraged, with lots of stations, times and frequencies here, thanks to Chuck Gessner: http://www.dodmars.org/home/armed-forces-day-2021 During the afternoon I cycle thru all the listed frequencies above 13 MHz several times; disappointing results, nothing heard on 24, 20, 18, 15 MHz bands. Of course I may have missed some contacts while the other side was transmitting duplex. 14487-USB had something JBA, but 14606-USB is very active by ``MARS Radio`` --- no other ID, call, base, or location beyond Florida mentioned a few times! He has an accent of some sort. 1843 contacting KD9EDR; 1948 now he`s stronger S9 with AE0G and NZ7S. 1958 makes general calls, listening on 14.258, which I never check. Still going at 2156 when the official AF Day message is about to be transmitted. 7540-USB said something about that just before 2200, but nothing further heard there nor on three other frequencies on the sked for which mode is not specified but apparently nothing in plain phone, rather digital modes but no beepery heard. Two years ago I heard the NWVC ship and NSS, as in DXLD 19-20: https://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1920.txt Three years ago I had NIIW ship and AAZ too: https://www/w4uvh.net/dxld1820.txt Chuck Gessner reviews AFD for the WOR iog at 0249 May 9: ``Well, was I wrong? Armed Forces Day Communications Test was a 48 hour event, not 24 hours as I had posted. To me, there was very little activity on Friday, May 7th. But Saturday, May 8th had many military stations in operation from all over the U.S, from Florida, Rhode Island, Maryland, California, Illinois..Those were the stations that I could hear. I heard several of the military operators briefly commenting that the propagation was weird. The military stations on the 5 MHz band were, to me very strong-most of the time. Oh well. From what I could tell most operations stopped at 0200 UT, or thereabouts. I never did hear or copy the Armed Forces Day message from the Secretary of Defense. Not sure why. Oh well, it was fun`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Re Armed Forces Day as May 8: NOT really; timeanddate.com says: ``Many Americans celebrate Armed Forces Day annually on the third Saturday of May. It is a day to pay tribute to men and women who serve the United States’ armed forces. Armed Forces Day is also part of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May.`` Apparently it derives from the merger of all armed forces into the Department of Defense in 1949 under Truman, but significance of the axual day/week is unclear, if any. A few years ago, the crossband ham radio event was moved a week earlier just to avoid conflicting with the so-called Dayton Hamvention, which was canceled both this year and last year for obvious reasons. There would be little point in making it a virtual event as hams can continue usual ``virtual`` contacts on the air. Next year 2022 it`s planned for May 20-21-22 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565, May 9 at 1408, HIFER beacon K6FRC is JBA with call over and over, another rare but allegedly significant logging due to its publicized power of only 1.8 milliwatts (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 18157.5-USB, May 10 at 1732, K5VWZ, Tom near Houston in QSO with some Miguel who was JBA; during the 17-m activity net. Lots of photos of his antennas and one of him at QRZ.com: ``K5VWZ USA flag USA. THOMAS E LAYNE, BAY CITY, TX 77414`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [non]. 7460, Mon May 10 until 0528.7* cutoff, only music. It`s VOA in Kin[yarwanda], 0430-0530 M-F and 0330-0430 daily, via BOTSWANA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2084 monitoring: Richard Lemke, Alberta, confirms Wed May 5 at 1030 on WRMI 5850; as well as many other airings. I confirm final repeat on WRMI: UT Thu May 6 at 0130 on 5010, S9/+10 into Bonaire SDR. A NEW time starts this week on WRMI, UT Saturday 0130 on 9395; that`s 8:30 pm CDT Friday. WOR 2085 confirmed first SW airings, UT Fri May 7 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5850 VG direct; 7780 S9+15/25 into VA SDR. Also confirmed Fri May 7 after 2030 on IRRS via Italia-AM, 918 kHz, usual steady S9+18 into local range IW3HBX SDR. Stayed on after 2100 with news and music until autocutoff at 2111:26* including any internet delay (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2085 monitoring: confirmed NEW time of UT Saturday May 8 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/20, cutting immediately from wrapup of Argentina in English scheduled for 0200-0230 UT Tue-Sat. Also confirmed Sat May 8 at 1300 on WRMI 15770, JBA; and unlike last week, stayed on. Also confirmed Sat May 8 after 1600 on WRN webcast to N America. Also confirmed Sat May 8 at 1956 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM MO via KB0FX remote about 14 minutes into so started circa 1943. NOT confirmed Sat May 8 at 2030 on IRRS, 918-AM, Italy as I had been told would substitute for pre-empted 1801 on that and 7290: instead music past 2040, and there was dead air at 2028-2030, steady S9+18 into Noale SDR. Confirmed UT Sun May 9 starting at 0327 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, despite proximity of KB0FX SDR, with heavy storm noise which I see on Blitzortung is currently centered around the quadri-state area NEMOKSIA. WORLD OF RADIO 2085 monitoring: confirmed Sunday May 9 from 2001 on IRRS via Italia-AM, 918 kHz, as heard via nearby Noale remote: was getting worried as music played 1958-2001. Also confirmed Sun May 9 from 2200:21 on Area 51/61 via WBCQ 6159.9+, JBA vs storm noise. 2159 IS & ID loop were playing, bit of other music until WOR start like on 7490 Wed from 2100:21, consistently 21 seconds late; I guess so their clox are set a bit slow. Also confirmed Sun May 9 at 2300 on WRMI 7780 S9+15/20 to Virginia SDR. Also confirmed UT Mon May 10 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct, right after Bob Zanotti gets to say only, Hello. Same problem on 5850 & 5950, but 5890 WWCR intact. 5850 unusually has a SAH as if two transmitters be competing. Also, Jeff White says 7570 will be back on next week, mostly Brother Stair (Glenn Hauser, OK) ** U S A. 9395, May 10 at 2206 tuning across I hear Bishop Bob Biermann remark that Fauci is a ``criminal doctor``. That tells us all we need to know about BBB. His wacko commentaries on two different programs now show for a total of 18 hours a week on WRMI skedgrid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7490v), May 8 from 0000, WBCQ webcast of `AAAWWW`, in & out chex. First half mostly about whether ham stations of 1 kW or less could pose a radiation risk. 0029, datestamp as 7 May YOOL 2021. Larry ---, a pirate accomplice of his youth, has died; reminiscences with J.P. calling in. 0052-0059 reading more items than usual from just-out Free Radio Weekly, including Voice of Communism, never crediting the reporter, in that case, me. Still until 0100 running over, prayer, so Hal Turner has to wait until 0102 JIP he`s already started. Here`s John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 7490 with no signal on 6160. Allan and Angela open with talk about the old TV show Hogan's Heroes as they're watching all of the episodes. Talk quickly morphs into talk about the cancel culture, masks etc. Phone call from Kracker at 0012 talking about the vaccine to begin with. Phone call from Mr. Mike at 0017 talking about some new Ham radio regulations going into effect and that there is an explanation on the NearFest webpage. Then into talk about regulations for the next NearFest in October. A quick check says that 6160 is now also broadcasting the program. Then Allan started talking about his early days as a pirate in his teens which led into informing us of the death of one his friends who helped him run the pirate stations. Allan then calls JP and they talk about their old friend and some of the things he used to get up to. Reading of emails at 0053 beginning with the latest Free Radio Weekly. Cut off at 0100 in the middle of the FRW with no closing prayer. Re NPR at 50: Rodney Johnson, Plymouth, replies on WOR iog: ``Greetings From Minnesota! I heard the NPR treatment of the event via podcast. Vanuatu X 3. Conditions seem normal with 11725 NZ, and 11895 presumed RFA Saipan the other significant 25mb signals. Some editors throw out my non-logs like this as if they were not newsworthy! China not audible either on 11835 -- Ron Howard indicates it too is irregular (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, May 7 at 0601, no signal again from R. Vanuatu X 3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, after 0600 May 9 and 10, R. Vanuatu absent from third harmonic and presumably 3945 & 7890 as well. Ron Howard heard from Bryan Clark, NZ, that on May 10 RV was on 5040 instead; and then Ron heard 5040 at 0637 and switching to 7890 (2 X 3945) at 0659, but 11835 blocked by China. No 10080 audible which would be 2 x 5040; and 15120 = 3 x 5040 blocked by China. If they keep to 5040 it`s blocked by Cuba until before or after 0600. However on May 11 RV was back to former pattern of 7260 to 3945/7890/11835 at *0559. I was also hearing 11835 again May 11 at 0602 music, YL in presumed Bislama; and a JBA carrier on 7890 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, May 12 at 0605, R. Vanuatu X 3 is on again but JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 475.65 kHz, May 12 at 0613 fast CW is JBA, unreadable, presumably a ham. Dave Frantz`s WA4SZE/BEACON from TN, conveying his website would be much stronger and slower, but in virtually nightly bandscans has not been heard since Dec 31 tho other reports ran until Jan 13 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7125, May 9 at 0613, JBA carrier, trace of modulation? Could it be a stray broadcaster/intruder? Off shortly later, so guess just a ham, tho AM mode not to be expected in this area, it may be optional (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) Ron Howard replies: ``Hi Glenn, Yes, it seems to me it could be a possible broadcaster on 7125? On May 10, listening from 0604 till tuned out at 0614, heard a steady AM carrier; did not make out any definite modulation, if any. As you noted, also off the air a short time later. Didn't seem to fit the format to be a ham? More monitoring needed. Ron, California`` 7125, May 11 not checked until a few minutes after 0600, nothing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9385, May 6 at 1412, open carrier S9+10/S9; likely WEWN night frequency not turned off; testing? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 11523-CW, May 6 at 1331, long JBA automated CW message, eventually restarting with VVVs, but too weak to detect any DE ID. Not in EiBi; UDXF iog has numerous recent 11523 logs without specific ID, some as QSX sent on other frequencies by Russian Navy, or earlier as ALE by British Army from Muscat, Oman (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
